Hi knitters!

In this post we recommend you a new crochet technique, star stitch.

This stitch is a little more complicated, but you just have to pay a little more attention to our explanations,

and it will definitely end up perfect!!

The first thing you need to know to crochet this new stitch is that we will use 3 types of stitches for each star,

with which you must make always make a chain in multiples of 3 and then add 2 stitches to this number to make the rows.

We made it with 14 stitches for four stars and two stitches for the rows.

Let’s start to crochet star stitch… 😉

1. First we make a chain of 14 stitches.

2. We crochet a single stitch in each one of the stitches.

This will be the base of our star stitch.

1. We make two chains on the end.

2. We insert our WAK crochet needle in the first stitch, picking up the thread and pulling it through.

We repeat this, until we have 5 stitches on our WAK crochet needle.

3. Now we make a yarn over on our crochet needle and we pull it through our 5 stitches.

Here we will have the first star.

1. We make a chain on the end.

2. We insert our WAK needle in the previous star, right in the center,

picking up the thread and pulling it through.

3. We insert our WAK crochet needle in the last stitch that we crocheted (in step 4),

picking up the thread and pulling it through.

4. We repeat the previous step until we have 6 stitches on our needle.

5. We make a yarn over on our needle and we pull it through all 6 stitches.

6. Repeat these last four steps until you finish the four stars.

7. Now that we have already finished the four stars, we make a single stitch in the last stitch.

We continue with the following row….

1. We crochet three chains and turn our crochet piece,

so that it is situated in the same position as the beginning.

2.  We do a yarnover and we crochet three double crochets in the center of the first star.

3. We insert the needle in the center of the second star.

4. We crochet 3 more double crochets and like we did in the previous step, we insert the needle in the center of the following star.

Repeat these steps until you finish the row.

5. With the 4 stars finished, crochet a double crochet in the last stitch to finish off the row.

Repeat these steps until you obtain the desired length for your WAK garment.

We hope that this new crochet stitch technique has gone well for you;

let us see your garments crocheted with this wonderful stitch.

As you already know, you will end up with different finishes depending on the needles and yarn balls that you use.

We have used a WAK CROCHET NEEDLE and 100% PERUVIAN WOOL in FUCHSIA.
