Hi knitters!

Today we will show you a new crochet technique for this winter… How to crochet cross stitch!

This stitch looks awesome because of the crossed threads, which draw a beautiful shape.  We suggest you use this stitch with large garments.

This is a technique for all crocheters or knitters, because it’s very easy to do. Pay attention to the following steps…. 😉

Cast on a chain with a multiple of 4 + 2 stitches

Crochet all the stitches of the first row with single crochet

The next row is the cross stitch row, and you have to crochet it like this:

1. Crochet a chain of 3 stitches, slip a stitch and then make 1 double crochet in each one of the next 3 stitches

2.  Crochet 1 double crochet at the slipped stitch. That’s the way to cross the thread. It’s so easy! 🙂

Repeat these two steps during the whole row, and finish with 1 double crochet.

Crochet another row using single crochet and continue crocheting the cross stitch row.

Practice this technique all the times you need and share your knits on Instagram, using the hashtag #weareknitters.

Your garment will rock with any yarn you will need. Check our online catalog and choose among cotton, fabric and wool yarn balls. You can also choose the width you would need.

For this post, we have used a crochet needle, a 100% Peruvian wool yarn ball in lead and a fabric yarn ball in pink.

Let’s create!
