Although it may seem complicated, to make this lace crochet flowers is very easy. A motif we can use to create a lot of complements that may make our projects even more beautiful.
For our example we have used Pima cotton in bubblegum color with a 5mm crochet hook. The stitches you will need are chain (o), single stitch (x) and double stitch (T). If you have any doubt, you can have instructions on how to make the stitches on the We Are Knitters website.
To make this motif you need a multiple of 16 stitches + 25. Our sample has 49 stitches so you can clearly see the motif.
Chain 49 stitches + 3 more with your WAK crochet hook. Work row 1 until you reach the desired length of lace flowers as follows:
Row 1: on the forth chain from the hook, double stitch 2, skip 2 stitches. *Single stitch 1, chain 1, skip 1 stitch, single stitch 1, skip 2 stitches, work a shell of 5 double stitches (this means, double stitch 5 on the same stitch) and skip 2 stitches*. Repeat from * to * until there are 6 stitches left, then single stitch 1, chain 1, skip 1 stitch, single stitch 1, work a shell of 3 double stitches (this means, double stitch 3 on the same stitch)
Vuelta 2: Chain 3. *4 double crochet, chain 3, skip 3 and 1 double crochet, chain 3, skip 3 and double crochet 5 *. Repeat from * to* until there is 1 stitch left. 1 double crochet.
Row 2: chain 3. *Double stitch 4, chain 3, skip 3 stitches, double stitch 1, chain 3, skip 3 stitches, double stitch 5*. Repeat from * to * until there is 1 stitch left, double stitch 1.
Row 3: chain 1, single stitch 2. *Chain 5, skip 5 stitches, single stitch 1, chain 1, skip 1 stitch, single stitch 1. Repeat from * to * until there are 7 stitches left, chain 5, skip 5 stitches, single stitch 2.
Row 4: repeat row 2.
Your first row of flowers is done! Start the second row by interchanging flowers, but in an easy way, since we will repeat the last rows with a few variations.
Row 5: repeat row 1.
Row 6: chain 3. *Chain 3, skip 3 stitches, double stitch 9, chain 3, skip 3 stitches, double stitch 1*. Repeat from * to * until there are 5 stitches left, chain 3, double stitch 2.
Row 7: repeat row 3.
Row 8: repeat row 6.
Repeat rows 1 to 8 until you reach the desired length.
You can make as many flowers as you want, and your projects will be much more interesting! If you think of projects incorporating these lace flowers, remember using the hasthtag #weareknitters on Instagram 😉
