How to make the triple crochet loop stitch

One of the best things about crochet is that it is very easy to create stitches with texture. This stitch is one of the best examples!

The triple crochet loop stitch is perfect for winter clothes as it mixes eyelet and relief. It looks really nice horizontally and vertically so you can use it in a lot of different ways.

The number of stitches has to be a multiple of 2 + 1.

Cast on an even number of chains and then add an extra chain.

Row 1: start with the fourth chain and make a double crochet into each of the chains. When you have finished make one more chain. Turn the project around.

Row 2: *circle the hook twice with the yarn, insert the hook into the next stitch, circle it with the thread and pull it out of the stitch. Circle it with the thread again and pull the hook through one stitch, circle it with the thread again and pull the hook through two stitches, circle it with the thread again and pull it through the last two stitches, make a single crochet in the next stitch*. Repeat from * to * until you have finished the row. Crochet 3 chains and turn the project around.

Repeat these two rows until you have reached the desired length.

You can vary the separation between the rows with the bobbles, by increasing the number of rows crocheted in double crochet before you repeat another row with a triple sling. It’s up to you!

Here we are using the cotton in navy blue, and a 5MM crochet hook.
