For this tutorial we used a skein of our The Mixed Yarn and a pair of size 8 beechwood knitting needles.

As always, we leave you a quick review of the stitches that we are going to use in case you have to review any at the last minute 😉

Start by casting on a multiple of 3 stitches.

Row 1 (wrong side): purl all stitches.

Row 2 (right side): start by knitting 2 stitches. *Continue by yarning over and knitting 3. Now pass the first stitch (counting from the tip of your needle inwards towards the 3 stitches that you just knitted) over the other two stitches (in the above image the stitch that you have to pass over the others is marked) *. Repeat from * to * until there is only 1 stitch left. Knit 1.

Row 3: purl all stitches.

Row 4: begin the row by knitting 1 stitch. *Continue by knitting 3, as we did in row 2: pass the first stitch (counting from the tip of your needle inwards) over the other two, yarn over *. Repeat from * to * until there are only 2 stitches left on the needle, knit 2.

This lacework is beautiful, isn’t it? We hope you will be encouraged to knit it into one of your next projects. We would love to see what yarn and pattern you knit it with through social networks using the hashtag #weareknitters.
