How to make flower stitch in crochet

This beautiful flower texture is made by chains, double crochet and slip stitch.

However, despite being a combination of basic stitches, crocheting them requires some skill. This is why we recommend this project if you’re at an advanced level of crochet.

Let’s see how it’s done.

Row 1: Chain 7 and join the last and the third chains with a slip stitch. *Chain 3, insert the crochet hook in the hole created by the chains and double crochet 2 in that same hole. You have craeted the first petal of the flower. Chain 3 and secure them in the hole with a slip stitch. Chain 3 and double crochet 2 into the hole.* Now you Will have two petals. To start the next flower, chain 10, join the last and the 6th with a slip stitch and make two petals in the hole by repeating from * to *. Work in this way to form as many flowers as you like.

Row 2: Chain 3.

Step 1: In the same hole of the flower, double crochet 2 to created the third petal. Chain 3, insert the hook into the hole and make 1 slip stitch. Chain 3 and double crochet 2 more stitches into the same hole to créate the 4th petal. Make 1 slip stitch in the third chain that separates the flowers from the the first row.

Step 2: Chain 7 and secure them with a slip stitch in the first double crochet of the petal of the row below. Chain 3 and make 1 slip stitch in the hole og the next flower. Work all the rows repeating steps 1 and 2 to complete all flowers of the first row. When you make the last flower, end with step 1.

Row 3:

Step 1:Chain 10 and join the last and the 6th chains with a slip stitch. Chain 3, insert the hook in the hole created by the chains and double crochet 2 in that same hole. Chain 3 more stitches. Make one slip stitch in the third chain of the second petal of the flower of the row below.

 

Step 2: To start the next flower, chain 10 and join the last and the 6th chains with a slip stitch. Chain 3, insert the hook in the hole created by the chains and double crochet 2 in that same hole. Then make 1 slip stitch in the hole created by the 7 chains of the row below. Chain 3. Turn the fabric, insert the crochet back into the hole and make 1 slip stitch. Chain 3 and double crochet 2 in the same hole to créate the second petal of the flower. Finally, chain 3 more and secure them with a slipped stitch en the third chain of the second petal of the flower of the row below.

Work repeating step 2 to the end of the row.

Row 4: Chain 9 and secure them with 1 slip stitch in the first double crochet of the petal of the row below. Chain 3 and sucure them with 1 slip stitch in the holeo f the first flower. Work the resto f the row following steps 1 and 2 of row 2.

Vuelta 5: Follow the same instruction for row 3.

Repeat rows 2 to 5 as many time as you like until you reach the desired length.

Finishing: When you have the desired length, turn the fabric to the right to complete the flowers that are on the side. Insert the hook in the hole, chain 3 and double crochet 2 to créate the third petal. Chain 3 and secure them with 1 slip stitch in the same hole. Double crochet 2 more stithces and make 1 slip stitch in the third chain that spearapates the lines. Now complete the 4th and last petal of the flower.

Go down to the next flower an chain 6 and slip stitch 1 in the hole of the flower. Complete petals 3 and 4 in the same way as on the previous flower.

Repeat until you coplete all the side flowers. Finish with 1 slip stitch in the first chain of the work.

As you can see, this is a complicated piece of crochet, but if you’re good with the hook and have some patience, you’ll catch the trick.
