Hi knitters!

Today we would like to show you how to crochet cable stitch.

This technique is a ‘must know’ for knitters and if you do it with a crochet hook, it will look even nicer! 🙂

It’s easy to learn cable stitch with needles but also with a crochet hook. The cross stitches do not create the cables but the crossed yarns.

We are going to use the following stitches to crochet cable stitch: double crochet, treble crochet and double treble crochet.

Crochet all the even rows in front treble crochet (taking the yarn from the last stitch from the front side to the back side of the same stitch). Continue crocheting in back treble crochet (taking the yarn from the last stitch from the front side to the back side of the same stitch).

We have crossed the stitches every 4 rows but you can cross your stitches whenever you fill up to. Crochet on all crosses a double treble crochet from the front side for all even rows.

Follow these pictures step by step to be able to crochet cable stitch on your WAK garments.

For this post we have used a 15mm crochet hook and a 100% Peruvian wool yarn ball in olive.

By the way; you can choose your favorite color to start crocheting.
