How to knit lace leaf stitch

Lacy patterns are perfect to use to make light and sheer garments, like summery t-shirts and accessories. If you’re looking for a lacy pattern that’s also unique, make sure to try this lace leaf stitch that we bring to you today. If you look closely you can see how the pattern forms small leaves that delicately intertwine. Our cotton is perfect for this stitch, since it provides great stitch definition so you can see the design much better.

This pattern is a worked over a multiple of 15 stitches + 1. It is not reversible.

Row 1: *knit 1, yarnover, knit 1, slip 1, knit 1, pass slipped stitch over knit stitch, purl 1, knit 2 together, knit 1, yarnover, purl 1, slip 1, knit 1, pass slipped stitch over knit stitch, purl 1, knit 2 together, yarnover, knit 1, yarnover*. Repeat from * to * until there is 1 stitch left, knit 1.

Row 2: purl 1. *Purl 4, knit 1, purl 1, knit 1, purl 3, knit 1, purl 4*. Repeat from * to * until the end of the row.

Row 3: *knit 1, yarnover, knit 1, slip 1, knit 1, pass slipped stitch over knit stitch, purl 1, knit 2 together, knit 1, purl 1, SK2PO (slip 1, knit 2 together, pass slipped stitch over the 2 stitches knit together), yarnover, knit 3, yarnover*. Repeat from * to * until there is 1 stitch left, knit 1.

Row 4: purl 1. *Purl 6, knit 1, purl 2, knit 1, purl 4*. Repeat from * to * until the end of the row.

Row 5: *knit 1, yarnover, knit 1, yarnover, slip 1, knit 1, pass slipped stitch over knit stitch, purl 1. Knit 2 together twice. Yarnover, knit 5, yarnover*. Repeat from * to * until there is 1 stitch left, knit 1.

Row 6: purl 1. *Purl 7, knit 1, purl 1, knit 1, purl 5*. Repeat from * to * until the end of the row.

Row 7: *knit 1, yarnover, knit 3, yarnover, SK2PO (slip 1, knit 2 together, pass slipped stitch over the 2 stitches knit together), purl 1, yarnover, knit 1, slip 1, knit 1, pass slipped stitch over knit stitch, purl 1, knit 2 together, knit 1, yarnover*. Repeat from * to * until there is 1 stitch left, knit 1.

Row 8: purl 1. *Purl 3, knit 1, purl 3, knit 1, purl 7*. Repeat from * to * until the end of the row.

Row 9: *knit 1, yarnover, knit 5, yarnover, slip 1, knit 1, pass slipped stitch over knit stitch, knit 1, slip 1, knit 1, pass slipped stitch over knit stitch, purl 1, knit 2 together, knit 1, yarnover*. Repeat from * to * until there is 1 stitch left, knit 1.

Row 10: purl 1. *Purl 3, knit 1, purl 2, knit 1, purl 8*. Repeat from * to * until the end of the row.

Repeat these 10 rows until you reach the desired length.

  1. When it comes to row 8 row 9 should be next, but it’s not. Do you have to repeat rows 7 & 8 or is there a typo somewhere? Thanks.
