Hello knitters!
Today we are teaching you a new stitch… the popcorn stitch! Also known as the bobble/puff stitch, it is done by knitting small balls to form a line of ‘bobbles’, which will give your knitted garments a very original and cool look.
You just have to cast on any number of stitches (in multiples of 4) onto one of your wooden WAK needles.
Row 1: Knit one stitch, *Knit three stitches together, increase 3 stitches in only one stitch in this order: knit one stitch, purl one stitch, and knit one stitch.*
*Repeat this last step until you reach the end of the row, finishing with a purl stitch.
Row 2 and all even rows: Pearl all the rows.
Row 3: Purl one stitch, *Increase 3 stitches in only one stitch in this order: knit one stitch, purl one stitch and knit one stitch, knit three stitches together.*
*Repeat this last step until you reach the end of the row, finishing with a purl stitch.
In the following video we explain the steps so that everyone can learn to knit this beautiful stitch and show it off with their next WAK knitting kit.
