How to knit overlapping waves stitch

You’ll love this wavy stitch pattern, it’s perfect to use to make a little blanket or to incorporate into light garments without making them too lacy.

 

The waves made in this stitch run vertically, and slightly overlapping, we are sure you will love them.

 

 

Stitch knit over a multiple of 6 stitches + 4 stitches. Not reversible.

 

Row 1: knit 2. *Yarn over, SKPO, knit 4*. Repeat from * to * until there are 2 stitches left. Yarn over, SKPO.

 

Row 2 and all wrong side rows: purl all stitches.

 

Row 3: knit 2. *Yarn over, knit 1, SKPO, knit 3*. Repeat from * to * until there are 2 stitches left. Yarn over, SKPO.

 

Row 5: knit 2. *Yarn over, knit 2, SKPO knit 2*. Repeat from * to * until there are 2 stitches left. Yarn over, SKPO.

 

Row 7: knit 2. *Yarn over, knit 3, SKPO, knit 1*. Repeat from * to * until there are 2 stitches left, yarn over, SKPO.

Row 9: knit 2. *Yarn over, knit 4, SKPO*. Repeat from * to * until there are 2 stitches left, yarn over, SKPO.

Repeat rows 1 to 10 until you reach the desired length.
