As good knitters and lovers of everything revolving around the knitting world, we have tried a ton of mobile applications related to knitting.

There are millions (and we’re not exaggerating) of related apps, each one with concrete characteristics.

And because we want the best for you, we have created a list of the 6 best applications to count stitches that we have found, and that you cannot miss!

Knit

Best Applications

This is a free application with a pretty interface. It is simple and easy to use.

You can select the type of garment you are going to knit and give it a name, in our case a wool hat: Mia Beanie!

If you know beforehand the rows and stitches you are going to need, you can notate this. And while you are knitting rows and stitches, you count them by pressing the cat icon! You will see the percentage that you have already knit and what is left. It couldn’t be cooler! <3

You can take photos, write notes, and configure the notifications, all on the same screen.

The only downside is that you can’t make more than one project at a time 🙁

Knit Counter

Best Applications 2

Knit Counter is as easy and intuitive as Knit, it has almost the same characteristics, but the design is not as pretty 🙁

It is composed of two screens: one to count stitches and rows, and the other to save all the information you need for the project: pattern, yarn, weight, color, needles…

You can only upload one image and you also cannot create more than one project at a time.

This version is free, but there is also an advanced version for $3.99, that has more functionalities.

Row Counter

Best Applications 3

We haven’t found an application more simple and easy to use than this one.

No photos, no notes, no cats…only a counter and nothing more. It couldn’t be simpler.

If you leave the app, it maintains as a notification the stitches you have so far.

It is free, and guess what? It is compatible with Apple Watch.

iKnitting Lite

Best Applications 4

Almost as simple as the previous, but with this one you can decrease the number of stitches or rows that you are counting.

It is presented on one screen. Free. And it doesn’t reflect the number of stitches when the application is closed.

Stitchy Stitch Counter

Best Applications 5

Maybe you are a knitter, maybe not. This doesn’t really matter, the important thing is that you want to count something and with this application it’s possible.

As simple as the others, it permits you to attach a photo of the project and create two counters at the same time.

The only downside is that it costs $0.99.

KnitCounters- Talk to Count

Best Applications 6

KnitCounters – Talk to count isn’t a free application, it costs $0.99 but we assure you it is worth it.

It is the first knitting application for counting stitches where you can talk. Well, there are others where you can talk, but this one listens and increases or decreases your count automatically.

If you don’t want to use your voice, you can also count in a traditional way, touching the screen.

The more you knit, using the application, the counter will learn automatically the speed in which you knit, and it will calculate the approximate time that you have left in your garment.

Isn’t it wonderful?

Did you know any of these apps? Have you used others that you would recommend?
