Hi knitters!

Many of you may already have one of our WE ARE KNITTERS cotton knitting kits in your possession so that you can start the summer season by showing off the lightest, coolest garments.

Plus… Who can resist these colors? We love this material now that good weather is arriving!

You already know that our Pima cotton from Peru is considered the best cotton in the world and has incredible characteristics including its high quality, lightness, softness and durability. These characteristics make it the perfect material for creating sweaters, jackets or shirts that will last you a very long time if you care for them properly.

Today we are showing you the best tricks for taking care of your Pima cotton garments, but if you still want to know more about this material, don’t hesitate to visit our webpage.

Washing and Ironing

We always recommend that you hand wash your finished garment in cold water and mild soap. After, lay it flat to dry so that the weight of the water doesn’t change its shape. In this way, we will be sure that the Pima cotton maintains its original qualities of softness and brightness, and looks the same as it did the first day.

Don’t use a washing machine or dryer…. Natural cotton calls for a natural treatment! 😉

If you leave the garment to dry over a towel, it will not need ironing, but if you do need to iron it, do so with the iron at a very cool temperature and with a cloth on top in order to avoid unnecessary wear and tear.

Additional Care

Always wash your hands when you are going to knit your Pima cotton garment. Although you might believe that your hands are clean, they can always have residues of creams or products that could leave stains on brighter colors.

Be careful with rings and bracelets since they might get hooked on your knitted stitches and fray the threads.

We also recommend that you fold your knitted garments instead of hanging them because the hanger could leave unwanted marks.

For seasonal changes, put your cotton garments in an airtight bag to store them so that they stay in perfect condition until you can start wearing them again.

By taking into account these instructions, you will be able to enjoy your WAK Pima cotton garment over the course of many years, as if it were brand new.
